Miley Cyrus, who recently made headlines with her heartfelt track Secret, has shared an personal revelation about her godmother, Dolly Parton.
The 31-year-old pop star, known for her bold reinventions, opened up about the pivotal role Parton has played in helping her overcome some of the darkest moments of her life.
The Flowers singer revealed that during the 2018 California wildfires, it was the 79-year-old country legend’s wisdom and music that helped her cope.
Speaking to Pamela Anderson for CR Fashion Book, Cyrus admitted: “During the fires, when there was so much devastation and grief, in those moments I always thought of Dolly Parton.
She always tells me that moments of trauma aren’t times to shut down or give up as entertainers. It’s our duty to be a source of joy and inspiration during moments of trouble.”
Moreover, the Disney alum also confessed that away from the spotlight, she struggles with her own battles.
Reflecting on her personality, she said: “I’m not a very consistent person. I’ve always admired people who have the art of consistency.”
Recently, she released the heartbreaking song Secret, which she dedicated to her country star father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Notably, this marks her first track since her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, released in May.
