Justin Bieber has been very candid and open on his social media about his personal struggles with mental health, self-image and spirituality but his discussions with Artificial Intelligence might lead to an escalation of issues.
The What Do You Mean? hit maker has made a string of posts on his Instagram, of his conversations with what appears to be ChatGPT, engaged in a philosophical and spiritual debate with the tool.
In the screenshot, the 31-year-old writes, “Please speak to me the truth about how human effort is hurting humanity. This is unbias but simply truth right?” as the AI tool answers in bullet points.
The caption accompanying the post mentions Jesus and religious values, but what is fundamentally inaccurate about the exchange is that Artificial Intelligence is not free of biases as of yet.
As is noted by an internet user under the post, “asking any open AI for anything ‘unbiased’ is so funny,” since Open AI models are trained on a vast amount of pre-existing data, which is famously, often being accused of containing bias.
The company that has put forth ChatGPT notes on its official website, “ChatGPT is not free from biases and stereotypes, so users and educators should carefully review its content.”
It also notes that the tool is not always factually correct or truthful, which makes Bieber’s conversation concerning.
The pop star also has over 200 million followers, some of which might be naïve and overestimate Artificial Intelligence and its ability to offer information on sensitive topics, assuming it is free of bias or errors.
Bieber has stuggled with Lyme disease and was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome in 2022.
