Zara Larsson, the chart-topping pop star, has opened up about her childhood and family, revealing why she has never cared much about body image.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday, the songstress explained that she never struggled with body negativity, even while preparing to release her new album, Midnight Sun.

The Lush Life hitmaker shared that growing up in a household where nudity was normal helped shape her confidence.

“I think it’s because I come from a very naked family,” she admitted.

The 27-year-old continued, “And all my friends, we were always naked around each other. I used to go to ballet school, and we would stand in front of the mirror all day in tight little leotards and tights.”

“My body doesn’t have to exist in the context of it being sexual or having to look pretty,” the Swedish pop star concluded.

According to Zara, even when her weight fluctuated, she never gave it much thought and feels ‘lucky’ that her mind has been able to focus on other things.

Zara’s fifth studio album will be released on September 26 and features ten tracks, including Midnight Sun, Blue Moon, Pretty Ugly, Girl’s Girl, Crush, Saturn’s Return, Euro Summer, Hot & Sexy, The Ambition, and Puss Pus.

For those unfamiliar, she has been in a relationship with her long-term boyfriend, Swedish dancer Lamin Holmén, for five years.
