SESAC has crowned singer and actress Ariana Grande as Songwriter of the Year for the LA Music Awards.

They also recognized her track We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) from the album, Eternal Sunshine.

Several other artists were recognized for their songwriting at the W Hotel in Hollywood, stemming from some of the most listened to tracks from 2024.

Dez Wright and The Legendary Traxster received Producer of the Year wins, having worked with artists like Travis Scott, Future, Beyoncé, Megan thee Stallion, among others.

Also winning songwriting wins were Jack Harlow, Emily Armstrong, Dahi, Japanese Breakfast, Green Day, Fede Vindver, Sam Tinnesz and more.

Sam Kling, chief creative officer, SESAC Performing Rights said about the awarded artists, “We’re proud to honor the incredible songwriters and publishers who make our music come alive. These songs are the result of immense dedication and talent, and we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on the amazing contributions of our SESAC family.”

James Leach and John Sweeney were revealed to have received posthumous legacy awards in recognition of the work they did during their lives.

Grande recently announced her first tour in seven years, however, she is facing criticism due to the US limited locations, and issues with tickets being resold for high prices.
