Oasis singer has given an emotional tribute to British boxing hero Ricky Hatton.
Ricky was found dead on Sunday at his home in Greater Manchester at the age of 46.
It was later confirmed that the late boxer’s death was not being treated as suspicious.
The English singer Liam Gallagher remembered the boxing legend by sharing a message on social media.
Taking to X, he wrote, “Absolutely devastated to hear the news about RICKY HATTON it was an absolute honour to know him and carry his belts RIP CHAMP LIVE FOREVER LG.”
Liam’s post highlighted Ricky’s career high moments from 2008 when Liam and his brother Noel walked the fighter to the ring in Las Vegas.
They singers walked Ricky for an iconic fight of world-title clash with Paulie Malignaggi.
The match was won by Ricky who called it a childhood dream come true.
Ricky recalled the night during his life in positive words saying, “Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a boxing world champion, support Man City and listen to Oasis.”
After that infamous fight, Ricky joined the singing duo in Mexico City to watch Oasis perform.
