Kylie Jenner claimed she is still highly engaged in her beauty brand, several years after selling a majority stake to Coty Inc. to the tune of 600 million.
The 28-year-old reality star told the Big Bro podcast by Kid Cudi that she continues to manage the social media aspect of Kylie Cosmetics.
The beauty line was launched back in 2015 as Lip Kit by Kylie before it was redefined as a complete range of skincare items.
She said, "I'm super involved. Like, really crazy about everything. I do the Instagram. I do all the posts,"
Jenner once admitted to Dazed magazine that she did not know the amount of money her brand was earning in the first year of its existence because she never had the password to her Shopify account.
"I knew it was very successful, I just didn't… It was not about the money for me. It was really just a lane for me to be creative," she noted at the time.
Approximately a year later, she recollected, "I [got] the password to our account, and I was like: 'What is happening?'"
The magazine documented the brand had earned a total of 420 million dollars within the initial 18 months of operation selling only lip kits.
Jenner also discussed what is in store of the company, telling People that she hopes that her daughter Stormi, 7, will take it over.
"I would love for this to be a legacy brand, and I'm working hard every day to set up that future," she concluded.
