American actress Kerry Washington has opened up about protecting her kids from social media.
The Emmy-winning actress is a mother to three kids, Isabelle, Caleb and a stepdaughter with husband Nnamdi Asomugha.
The movie star explained why she does not post pictures of her kids online.
“It was very hard at the beginning.”, the Hollywood star told InStyle.
Kerry said initially she would take pictures and send it to her mother and knew she does not want to post them online.
It was when the kids started going to school when it became scary for the actress.
“When (the kids) started going to school and I knew I couldn’t protect them every moment of the day, it was scary.”, she said.
She added, “Our kids get to be who they are, not who the world has decided they are.”
The actress further explained that she is protective about her marriage as well in the similar manner.
“We live our lives and we are in the public eye, but we are still fairly private.”
Not posting pictures of star kids has been a common tradition now as social media and technology has progressed and celebrities are trying to protect their children from dangers.
