Legendary English actor Ian McKellen met with a sudden health scare that forced him to cancel film premiere appearance.
Sir Ian McKellen has been forced to step out from the international premiere of his latest film The Christophers.
The decision has been made on the advice of the actor’s doctors.
He 86-year-old was due to attend the premier of the movie at the Toronto Film Festival but instead he had to send a pre-taped message for the event.
The acting icon’s “medical advisers” told him it is not safe for him to fly, as per Daily Mail. The doctors believed it is “Better safe than sorry”.
The Lord of the Rings actor stars in the movie alongside Michaela Coel, James Corden and Jessica Gunning.
The movie follows the estranged children of a once-famous artist who hired someone to finish his pieces so they can be sold after his death.
Sir Ian filmed his scenes in February. This was his first project since he fell on stage last summer during a West End performance.
