Will Smith turns to estranged wife Jada Pinkett amid backlash

Will Smith, who recently released comeback album Based on a True Story, seemingly turned a deaf ear to the ongoing criticism with his latest move.

After remaining estranged for nearly one year, Will and Jada stepped out together to eat at a notable spot in Malibu.

Although the Aladdin actor was called out for using an AI-generated video of crowd cheering on him, the 56-year-old star was in high spirits throughout their hangout.

The Men in Black lead kept it casual in a white T-shirt and paired it with a matching cap. On the other hand, the 53-year-old wore a unique nude dress.

The couple’s last date night was reported in November 2024; however, Jada publicly announced in 2023 that she and her husband remained separated since 2016.

This came after the Arabian Nights hitmaker poked fun at the ongoing backlash by posting another video of crowd filled with AI-generated cats.

The Hollywood star is attempting to make a comeback in the entertainment industry with new album and other projects, including directing upcoming Fast and Loose.

The newly released record addressed the Chris Rock slap from Oscars 2022 and the downfall in his career that followed.

Meanwhile, fans do not seem satisfied with Will's new projects, calling them “irrelevant” with the new generation, who groove over tracks from artists like Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift and others.
