Prince Harry is under pressure to step back from the Invictus Games, the international sporting event he founded in 2014, as insiders worry his reputation may now be a liability.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, has remained closely involved with the Games, which were designed to celebrate and empower wounded, injured and sick military personnel.

But according to the Daily Mail, some within the Invictus Games Foundation believe Harry’s presence has become “too divisive,” particularly within the Armed Forces.

One insider claimed: “The duke has become an increasingly divisive figure, particularly in the Armed Forces. And that is not good for Invictus."

"We are all about bringing people together and inspiring those who have suffered hardship. Now that Invictus is firmly established, it might be better if the duke took a step back.”

Critics also say publicity around the 2027 Birmingham Games has been overshadowed by speculation about whether the Royal Family will attend, rather than the competitors themselves.

However, competitors continue to praise Harry’s dedication.

Former RAF sergeant Michelle Turner previously told People: “How do you ever thank somebody for changing your life? He is so relatable and so lovely to everybody.”
