Meghan Markle has come under fresh criticism after a royal commentator claimed Princess Diana would have been “disappointed” by the Duchess of Sussex’s behaviour.
Writing for the New York Post, reporter Caroline Bullock argued that while Diana would have adored Kate Middleton, she likely would not have approved of Meghan and Prince Harry’s choices since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
“But Diana would not have embraced every decision made by her baby boy and his domineering wife,” Bullock wrote.
She added that Meghan and Harry’s “pious, perma-victim charade in California” and the “petty rows” that deepened the rift between Harry and Prince William would have left the late Princess of Wales saddened.
Bullock further claimed Diana would be disheartened to see Harry “holed up in Montecito, consumed by bitter legal battles and flagging Netflix deals, abandoning the life and duties to be a plus-one to Meghan’s ambitions.”
She stressed that Diana valued loyalty, duty, and respect for royal tradition, qualities she argues contrast sharply with Meghan’s infamous mock re-enactment of her first curtsy to Queen Elizabeth II.
