Mark Hamill makes heartfelt admission about wife Marilou York

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill and his wife Marilou have proven that true love really can stand the test of time.

The couple, who tied the knot back in December 1978, recently opened up about how they have kept their marriage strong for nearly five decades.

Speaking to People magazine, the 70-year-old actress revealed her simple but powerful advice.

“Don’t sweat the little stuff. And you have to accept their quirks and their behaviour,” she said.

Marilou’s 73-year-old husband couldn’t resist a playful response, teasing, “What quirks?” before agreeing that “acceptance” and “communication” are the cornerstones of their relationship.

Mark admitted he feels “lucky” to have found his perfect match, saying, “When you find the right one, the odds are against you."

"But if you do get lucky, you just have to hang on and be grateful.”

The couple first met in the mid-’70s when Marilou worked as a dental hygienist.

Their love story began in a dental office and blossomed into a Malibu wedding.

For those unfamiliar, they share three children together: Nathan, Griffin, and Chelsea.
