Lewis Capaldi, known for his emotional ballads, has made a heartfelt confession about female pop stars.
The 28-year-old singer admitted that female chart-toppers are leaving many male performers behind when it comes to live shows.
Speaking on the Creativo podcast, the Scottish hitmaker praised women in pop for “spearheading” the genre with innovative music and spectacular stagecraft.
“It’s really being spearheaded by women, I think,” Capaldi said.
“Women seem to get up there and put everything into a performance, and it’s all really thought out.”
The Someone You Loved singer pointed to Harry Styles and newcomer Benson Boone as rare male exceptions but insisted most men could learn a lesson in showmanship from their female peers.
His remarks come as women continue to dominate the global music scene, with Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour and Beyoncé’s visually stunning Cowboy Carter shows drawing acclaim worldwide.
Moreover, stars such as Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo and Doja Cat have also been praised for their bold aesthetics and high-concept performances.
Capaldi, meanwhile, has been staging his own comeback after stepping back to manage his Tourette syndrome.
The Survive crooner revealed that therapy has been transformative, helping him return to the stage after cutting short his Glastonbury set two years ago.
“Therapy is the reason why I am able to be a musician again,” he said. “I don’t think I’ll ever stop after the impact it’s had on my life.”
It is not revealed yet if Lewis Capaldi is dating anyone at the moment. Reportedly, he split from girlfriend Ellie MacDowall in August 2024, ending their two-year relationship.
