Demi Moore, famed for her role in the supernatural romance film Ghost, has defended her ex-husband Bruce Willis’s wife, Emma Heming, after criticism over his care.
The 62-year-old actress recently voiced her support for the 47-year-old model following backlash against the family’s decision to move the 70-year-old Die Hard star into a specialist care home.
Speaking on The Oprah Winfrey Podcast, the Substance actress acknowledged the immense responsibility Emma has carried, praising her as “masterful” in handling such a heartbreaking situation.
“There is no roadmap for how to deal with this,” she said.
She also reflected on her own way of coping with Bruce’s illness, “It’s so important to meet them where they’re at. When you stay present, there’s still so much of him there.”
Demi, who was married to Bruce from 1987 to 2000 and shares three daughters with him, has remained close to the family.
Emma revealed last year that the Death Wish actor had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, following his withdrawal from public life in 2022.
In a candid interview with Diane Sawyer, she admitted placing him in full-time care was “one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make so far,” but stressed it was best for their daughters.
Bruce Willis and Emma Heming tied the knot in 2009. They have been married for 16 years and share two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.
