American actor and novelist Raegan Revord, known for her role as Missy Cooper in the television series Young Sheldon, explained why Iain Armitage cannot cameo in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
The comedy-drama revolves around the marriage of Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment) as they raise their newborn in Texas. The spin-off has featured several actors from Young Sheldon.
Missy (Revord), Mary (Zoe Perry), Meemaw (Annie Potts), and even George Cooper (Lance Barber) have all made appearances in the show.
However, Armitage has not reprised his role as Sheldon.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Revord revealed that she has completed filming an episode of Georgie & Mandy with Perry.
When asked if fans might see Armitage return as Sheldon, Revord admitted she was not sure if that would happen.
“That would be so much fun, but I feel like, because they’re sticking to The Big Bang Theory lore and everything… the whole thing in The Big Bang Theory is that Georgie and Sheldon don’t talk, because they kind of have a rift between them after George dies,” the actor explained.
Revord emphasised that if the creators continue following that timeline, “I feel like it wouldn’t make sense for Sheldon to come back. But who knows? Maybe they’ll find a loophole. They have found loopholes before. Maybe they’ll find one again.”
