Ashby Gentry finally got what he wanted in season 2 of My Life with the Walter Boys as Alex, though it came with complications.

After weeks of secret hook-ups with Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez), Alex is blindsided when she confesses she is actually in love with his brother, Cole (Noah LaLonde), who, in turn, admits to having the same feelings for her.

The season ends on that explosive note, leaving fans once again holding their breath as Jackie finds herself caught in a messy love triangle between the two brothers.

Speaking about the final confession, Gentry revealed to People that he was surprised by the edits. “There's some stuff that didn't make the cut,” he said.

“Especially the end. There was a lot in that last scene in the script that didn’t appear on screen. There are pieces I wish had made it in,” Gentry admitted.

He explained that there was a “crossroads” in the show’s direction.

“And based on how that was cut, and the scripts I’ve read for season 3, I think I understand why they made those choices,” he said. “I realised, okay, they’re heading in a different direction.”

The Netflix breakout star, who already knows what’s coming with season 3, now in production, teased that the story takes some unexpected turns.

“It’s not that I see the cliffhanger differently,” he clarified, carefully avoiding spoilers. “Here’s the best way to put it without giving anything away. When I was preparing for season 3 a few days ago, before I had the scripts, I was relying only on what I knew from season 2. And part of that information came from dialogue in the final scene that was ultimately cut.”

Reflecting on that missing dialogue, Gentry admitted, “I thought, okay, this is the path we’re taking. But after reading the season 3 scripts, I realised we’re actually going somewhere completely different.”
