Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that Adam Driver has repeatedly declined offers to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe admitting that trying to cast the actor has become something of a tradition.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast Feige said Marvel has approached the Oscar-nominated actor multiple times over the years.

"It's no secret that we'd like to [work with Adam], but it's a tradition to Zoom with him and then he passes," Feige said. "He's usually up front about how he's feeling."

Although Feige did not reveal which roles were offered to Driver the actor has long been rumoured as a potential choice to play Magneto in Marvel's upcoming X-Men reboot. However Feige stressed that no casting decisions have been finalised.

Driver who is best known for playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy has largely avoided joining another major franchise since then.

Despite passing on Marvel Driver previously expressed interest in returning to the Star Wars universe.

"I always was interested in doing another Star Wars," he said in 2024. "With a great director and a great story, I'd be there in a second. I loved that character and loved playing him."

Meanwhile Marvel recently released the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday which brings together heroes from across the MCU and beyond to face Doctor Doom played by Robert Downey Jr.

The film features an ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Channing Tatum, Ian McKellen, the Fantastic Four, and several X-Men characters.

While Adam Driver won't be among them Feige's comments suggest Marvel hasn't given up hope of eventually bringing the actor into the MCU.
