Perrie Edwards’ fans were delighted to discover the singer had written a song about her ex-band member, Jesy Nelson, on her upcoming debut album, Perrie.
As per The Sun, the 32-year-old singer extended an olive branch to Nelson through her song, Goodbye My Friend.
According to the sources, the track does not speak ill of the musician but rather is a love letter to honour their friendship throughout the years. They said, “The track about Jesy has always been very close to her heart.”
An insider further explained that, as of now, there is no communication between the women; however, they are hoping the track might help the duo to reconnect.
Netizens took to social media to express their excitement about the news. One fan wrote, “So proud of you.” Another well-wisher commented, ‘ I can’t wait to listen to the whole album!!”
Previously, Edwards stated that she had removed most of her songs from the album since she didn’t connect with them. The source admitted, “Perrie re-did her album as she didn't feel she connected with it.”
Notably, the Power hitmaker formed a close bond with Nelson during their time in the band, Little Mix.
The four-member girl group, which includes Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh Anne Pinnock, was active from 2011 until their hiatus in 2021.
Though the 34-year-old member departed from the band in 2020, which made Edwards sad since they also lost contact.
For the unversed, Perrie will be released on September 26 and is said to consist of 16 tracks.
Currently, there are no reports of Little Mix reuniting since all four members are working on their solo careers.
