Will Peter Phillipss fiancée Harriet Sperling pass the Balmoral Test?

Peter Phillips’ bride-to-be, Harriet Sperling, is reportedly undergoing the infamous “Balmoral Test” as she joins the Royal Family for their annual summer retreat in Scotland.

Harriet, who got engaged to Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest grandson earlier this summer, is spending time with the royals at Balmoral Castle for the first time, a rite of passage famously seen as an unofficial initiation into the family.

A source told The Sun: “Everyone knows Peter is smitten and his family have accepted Harriett into the set up, so she will likely pass the infamous Balmoral Test with flying colors.”

The “test” is less formal rulebook and more about blending into royal life, from observing protocol to keeping up with outdoor pursuits like shooting, fishing, and long walks.

The tradition was even depicted in The Crown, where Princess Diana passed with ease while Margaret Thatcher famously floundered.

Harriet has already made several appearances alongside her fiancé, including mingling with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Royal Ascot, suggesting she’s already been warmly welcomed.

Peter, 47, shares two daughters, Savannah and Isla, with his ex-wife Autumn Kelly. Harriet, an NHS nurse, also has a daughter, Georgia.

The couple have not yet set a wedding date.
