Blake Lively put rumours to rest about stepping back from acting, as Lionsgate studio confirmed her lead role in the upcoming film, The Survival List.

The 37-year-old actress will star in and produce the romantic comedy amid the legal clash with It Ends with Us director and costar Justin Baldoni.

According to Entertainment Weekly, The Survival List follows a TV producer, Annie, played by Lively, who is assigned to host a show with a survival expert, Chopper Lane. Push comes to shove, and the duo develops unlikely chemistry.

The film will be co-produced by Marc Platt, who also produced Wicked, and written by Tom Melia. Lionsgate has yet to announce the male lead and director, as details are being kept under wraps.

Despite facing backlash from netizens over her actions towards her co-star, Lively appeared unfazed in her career, with the news coming just months after the premiere of her sequel, Another Simple Favour.

On the personal front, in December 2024, Blake Lively filed a complaint against Justin Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department.

She alleged her co-star had sexually harassed her and instigated an online smear campaign during the promotion of It Ends with Us.

The Gossip Girl alum went on to file a lawsuit against him, his studio, and his publicist, which resulted in Baldoni counter-suing her for $400 million. In August 2025, the judge dismissed his suit.

The actors are set to appear in court on March 9, 2026.
