Matt Damon recently made life-altering decision after he plays the role of a warrior in The Odyssey epic.
The American actor reportedly got down to his high school weight, dropping to 167 pounds to play Odysseus in the Christopher Nolan-directed movie.
Looking at his drastic transformation, Matt shared that he won’t do something dangerous like this anymore for his upcoming movie roles.
“If I had done the opposite and put weight on, that would have been dangerous and it’s not something I’ll do anymore. I was happy to do it earlier in my life,” explained the 55-year-old actor in his latest cover story for People magazine.
The Martian actor revealed that he gave gluten for the role, saying, “It was more about just getting really, really physically fit, which just really involves changing your diet, just a whole lifestyle change.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Matt pointed out that he found inspiration every day on the set of The Odyssey despite shooting in different locations like Iceland, Scotland, Greece, Morocco and Italy.
“This movie was by far the hardest movie to the most challenging movie I’ve ever been a part of,” mentioned the Good Will Hunting actor.
Matt however noted that it “felt more like an expedition” than a movie.
Meanwhile, The Odyssey is set to release in theatres on July 17.
