Meghan Markle is using fashion to send a powerful message about her independence from royal life, according to a style expert who analyzed the trailer for the second season of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, showcases a wardrobe of “quiet luxury” looks, tailored yet relaxed pieces, as she cooks and entertains celebrity guests.
Personal stylist Cynthia Kennedy told The Mirror that Meghan’s fashion evolution reflects a conscious break from dressing like a duchess.
“Her revamped style is sending everyone a message that she doesn’t have to dress like a duchess anymore,” Kennedy explained.
“She’s dressing like herself, approachable, modern, authentic, and real.”
Comparing the two seasons, Kennedy noted Meghan’s first-season outfits leaned toward “Duchess-lite” with polished tailoring and muted neutrals.
By contrast, season two features softer, more effortless looks that balance comfort with aspirational style.
“It signals she’s not performing royalty anymore, but instead connecting as a modern woman, wife, and mother,” she added.
The new season of With Love, Meghan will feature eight episodes and a star-studded guest list, including Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, José Andrés, David Chang, Samin Nosrat, Clare Smyth, and Christina Tosi. The show premieres August 26 on Netflix.
