Meghan Markle wanted to outshine Queen Elizabeth, says royal author

Meghan Markle’s approach to life as a royal is once again under the spotlight, with insiders claiming she was determined to “control” every decision rather than leave anything to chance.

Royal author Tom Bower, in his explosive book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, revealed that Meghan carefully managed her image from the start of her romance with Prince Harry in 2016.

“In Meghan Markle’s life, little happened by chance. Beyond the empathetic smile was a woman who disrupted spontaneity and liked to control every aspect of her life,” Bower wrote.

He claimed Meghan “outed” her relationship with Harry by posting a Halloween photo on Instagram during a Toronto night out with Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

“For her own reasons, she wanted the relationship to be publicised,” Bower added.

Royal biographer Tom Quinn also alleged that Meghan alarmed Buckingham Palace when she signaled she wanted to operate independently of the Queen’s strategy.

A former courtier told him: “When you join the Royal Family, you don’t do as you please, you do as you’re told.”

Now living in Montecito with Prince Harry and their two children, Meghan has shifted her focus to media ventures, with her Netflix cooking series With Love, Meghan returning for season two next week.
