Why Meghan Markle has left Prince Harry alone to fight sensitive charity row

Meghan Markle is keeping a low profile amid Prince Harry’s escalating dispute with Sentebale, the HIV/AIDS charity he co-founded in 2006.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, stepped down as patron earlier this year following tensions with chairwoman Dr. Sophie Chandauka.

In the fallout, allegations of bullying, misogyny and racism were aired publicly, claims Britain’s Charity Commission later said it found no evidence to support, while criticizing all sides for letting the boardroom drama spill into the press.

Despite usually championing her husband in public, Meghan, 44, has offered no comment, focusing instead on her own projects.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told GB News the Duchess has “wisely taken a back seat,” noting the issue’s sensitivity, especially given Meghan’s long-standing advocacy against sexism and misogyny.

“Sentebale was Harry’s charity from the start,” Bond said, adding that the accusations, though dismissed by the regulator, make this a particularly delicate arena for Meghan to enter.

Insiders say Harry remains committed to supporting young people in Lesotho and Botswana, whether through a new initiative or by backing existing organizations.
