John Cena, who gained widespread recognition for his role as Peacemaker, has announced the date of his retirement following a legendary career.

The 48-year-old, who has also built a successful Hollywood career, will retire from WWE on December 13.

NBC Sports confirmed the news while announcing a new deal between WWE and Peacock, stating, “Saturday Night’s Main Event on 13 December will feature John Cena in his retirement match.”

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque expressed his excitement about the deal, saying, “We’re excited to bring Saturday Night’s Main Event exclusively to Peacock beginning this fall.”

The Bumblebee actor is scheduled to appear at Wrestlepalooza, as well as next week’s Clash in Paris, where he will face Logan Paul.

While speaking to PEOPLE magazine, the 17-time world champion acknowledged his age as a factor in his decision.

“I’m not as strong or as fast as I used to be,” he said.

Notably, the events will be available on YouTube for international viewers.
