Dominic McLaughlin talks being the new Harry Potter

The Harry Potter franchise is one of the biggest in the entertainment industry with a multi-billion dollar movie series already released.

Following the success of the movie series, that wrapped in 2011, it was revealed that a show will be made on the children’s books with an entire new cast.

For the titular role of the young wizard Harry, 11-year-old British actor Dominic McLaughlin was cast.

Dominic has been spotted filming for the first season of the series, which is scheduled to be released in 2027.

Talking about the Harry Potter transformation, Dominic said it felt “surreal” to put the costume on.

“A bit surreal to be honest, because I was always a huge Harry Potter fan when I was younger.”, he told BBC News.

The young actor called it a “dream role” and added that he is “thrilled” to be able to do it.

Dominic will star alongside Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger.

The actor has been photographed filming in London with Nick Frost, who will portray the role of Hagrid.
