Jimmy Kimmel opened up about his untold hero service for Matt Damon at his house in Los Angeles.
In conversation with Variety, the 57-year-old talk show host revealed how a YouTube DIY (do it yourself) video saved Damon’s life from choking to death.
Kimmel recalled that the 54-year-old actor had arrived late for dinner at his place and started eating fast. The rib blocked his airway for half an hour.
He said, “We did a lot of YouTube-ing and finally concluded that eating little bits of bread was the way to get that rib to work its way down into his stomach.”
The comedian admitted he was afraid at one point since the Heimlich manoeuvre was not working and joked that he did not want to go to prison for murder.
Notably, Kimmel and Damon have been frenemies for the past 20 years, which began in 2006 on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The Martian star was a guest on an episode, but the host joked they had run out of time before Damon could appear on screen.
This began a years-long feud between the pair, with them trash-talking about each other on live television and red carpets.
On the professional front, Jimmy Kimmel is nominated for four Emmy awards and has expressed his intention to submit his vote for Stephen Colbert, whose show was recently cancelled.
