Travis Kelce has fuelled fresh speculation that the upcoming NFL season could mark the final chapter of his glittering football career.
The 36-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star has only just celebrated marrying pop superstar Taylor Swift in a lavish New York City ceremony, but his focus has already shifted back to the game.
Now, a message from longtime friend and trainer Cris Carter has fans wondering whether retirement is closer than anyone expected.
Cris hinted that Travis is preparing for one last shot at NFL glory, writing on Instagram: "Andrew and I started with Travis before his rookie year in the NFL. Know the GOAT is preparing for THE LAST DANCE. Next stop Canton/HOF."
The post also gave fans a glimpse of Travis proudly wearing his wedding band after tying the knot with the Lover singer, also 36, at Madison Square Garden on July 3 in front of around 1,000 guests.
Despite the growing retirement rumours, he has remained coy about when he plans to hang up his boots.
Reflecting on the Chiefs' disappointing 2025-26 campaign, he admitted he still hasn't made up his mind.
"Who knows? Either a decision hits me quick, or I've got to take some time," he told The Kansas City Star.
"Last year was a little bit easier. I think I knew right away I wanted to give this year a shot. I don't know. We'll see."
Back in March, the tight end confirmed he would return for a 14th NFL season, with his New Heights podcast announcing: "HE'S BACK!!! TRAVIS KELCE IS BACK WITH THE CHIEFS FOR YEAR 14."
Meanwhile, teammate Patrick Mahomes has credited Taylor's relationship with Travis for taking the Chiefs to an entirely new level of global fame, while also praising the singer's relentless work ethic and grounded personality.
