Benny Blanco, Jason Sudeikis get slammed over tipping culture comment

Benny Blanco and Jason Sudeikis have faced backlash over their tipping culture comment on the music producer’s Friends Keep Secret podcast.

Selena Gomez’s husband and Ted Lasso star recently discuss career, fatherhood, dating and anxiety on the latest episode of the podcast.

During their conversation, Sudeikis argues that leaving a 10 percent tip for bad service makes the diner look like an “a**hole”.

Blanco mentions that when people are “tipping at a restaurant,” it’s an interesting world to be in.

Sudeikis chimes in and quips, “How you do the math for 12 percent?”

Nevertheless, the music producer has expressed his interest in learning about how someone is tipping when they are footing the bill.

Sudeikis however, points out that this thinking only makes people “more anxious”.

Sharing his views on poor customer service at a restaurant, the Golden Globe winner notes that tipping poorly teaches anything to the waiters.

“If someone is not good, like a waiter or waitress at a diner type place, and they're just brusque and not checked in, and you wanted to be there for 45 minutes, but you were there for an hour and a half because they were just not there,” explains Sudeikis.

However, the Horrible Bosses actor adds, “If you only tipped 10 percent, they're only going to walk away from there going, ‘What an a**hole’.”

After listening to the criticism, neitzens take to X and slam both stars for their complaints over tipping culture.
