Robbie Williams embarrassing moment caught on cam during World Cup final

Robbie Williams became the subject of social media chatter after an awkward moment during a live television interview following the FIFA World Cup final.

The singer who opened the tournament finale by performing Desire alongside Laura Pausini and Nicole Scherzinger later appeared on German broadcaster Magenta Sport to discuss the match.

During the live interview a small white object appeared to fall from Williams' mouth onto his microphone. The singer calmly removed it and continued speaking seemingly unaware that it had then become stuck to his forehead after he brushed back his hair.

The clip quickly went viral with some social media users initially claiming the object had fallen from his nose. However many viewers disputed the claim after watching slowed-down versions of the footage.

"Clearly comes out of his mouth," one user commented while another wrote "Need to check your eyes... it came from his mouth."

Several fans suggested the object was likely a mint or chewing gum rather than anything more serious. Singer Michael Bublé also appeared to defend Williams in a now-deleted comment reportedly joking, "Was a mint, saved it for later lol."

Others found humour in the incident with one viewer joking that Williams "just had Styrofoam for lunch," while another quipped "Whatever it is and wherever it came from, it's on his forehead!"

During the broadcast the singer reflected on the tournament calling it his favourite World Cup because it became a "massive bonding" experience with his 13-year-old daughter Teddy who had developed a love for football.

Williams also confirmed he hopes to return for next year's Women's World Cup in Brazil after being asked about future tournament appearances.
