Tom Cruise delivered an inspiring speech ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, reflecting on football's power to bring people together.
The Mission: Impossible star addressed fans during the pre-match ceremony at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey before Spain faced Argentina in the tournament finale.
He began his speech, saying, "30 days ago, 48 nations began a journey. They crossed oceans. They crossed borders. They crossed cultures. And together, they showed us why this game belongs to the world."
He continued, "From three countries across them and from every corner of the globe, we have witnessed greatness. And we have shared moments of joy, moments of hope, moments we will never forget."
Interestingly, the Hollywood actor described football as "a language spoken without words" that unites people around the world.
Elsewhere in his address, the American actor praised everyone involved in the tournament before saying, "Today, only two teams remain. Spain and Argentina. But these stories belong to each and every one of us."
Moreover, he concluded, "So as we gather for one final chapter, let us celebrate a tournament that brought the world together...This is football. This is FIFA. This is greatness."
Notably, Spain later defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to lift the FIFA World Cup trophy.
