Maroon 5, known for creating several chart-topping hits, released their new album Love is Like which marks their return to music after four-year hiatus.

While the record initially received backlash after debuting, the pop band seemingly did not loose hope as they put up a "secret" show to celebrate the release.

The Animals hitmaker took the stage at the Santa Barbara, holding a pop-up event for the crowd. Soon, videos from the performance began making the rounds on the internet.

The fan-filmed footage featured Adam Levine singing one of their hit songs She Will Be Loved for the cheerful audience.

The move raised eyebrows as the online community started wondering where the next performance might take place.

One of the X users was delighted to hear the Girls Like You crooner sing, calling the “surprise pop-up the “perfect way to kick off Love Like.”

Another admirer noted that this is “such a fun way to celebrate a new album drop,” adding “vibes gonna be unreal at that pop-up.”

However, a third netizen expressed love for the band but “their new album is an entire skip.”

Is new Maroon 5 album being criticised?

In a separate post, someone criticised the record: “The latest maroon 5 album sounds like such basic b**ch music.”

The new tracks seemingly did not sit well with one of the music lovers as they wrote: “I can’t tell you a single thing about it bc it was so unforgettable.”
