Prince Andrews nasty comments aimed at Kate fuelled feud with Prince William

Prince William’s cool stance toward his uncle, Prince Andrew, may go beyond public scandal control, and straight to defending Kate Middleton.

In Andrew Lownie’s forthcoming biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, the author alleges Andrew made “nasty,” “rude” and “unkind” remarks about the Princess of Wales, claims that reportedly hardened William’s resolve to keep his distance.

Per reports, Lownie suggests Andrew’s alleged comments were fuelled by jealousy over Kate’s soaring prominence within the Firm as Andrew’s own public role collapsed following his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

“I can’t see how anyone could make unkind comments about Kate when she’s been the family’s saving grace,” Lownie told Radar Online, adding that envy can drive surprising behavior.

While William has never publicly addressed tensions with his uncle, royal watchers note the Prince of Wales has steered clear of joint appearances with Andrew for years, a pattern that intensified after the duke stepped back from royal duties.

The book also revives chatter that Andrew’s long-term residency at Royal Lodge could face scrutiny in the next reign, with one source claiming William would move to evict Andrew and Sarah Ferguson if King Charles doesn’t act first.

Buckingham Palace has not commented on the book’s claims.

Andrew has consistently denied wrongdoing and remains a non–working royal.
