Lizzo has been known for her bold statements and unapologetic attitude.
After Sydney Sweeney received harsh criticism for doing the advertisement for a jeans line with the brand American Eagle, Lizzo stepped in to share her thoughts and that were not unamusing.
Sydney Sweeney stars in an ad for the brand’s jeans in which she says she has “great jeans”, which has been criticised for being tone-deaf in the current political climate where white supremacy is being propagated.
The singer posted a picture of herself photoshopped in Sydney’s ad wearing similar jeans with the caption “My jeans are black”.
Lizzo is not the first singer to mock the ad as previously Doja Cat also made fun of the campaign on her TikTok as she mimicked Sydney’s dialogues from the ad.
The criticism on Sydney comes soon after she was blasted by people online for selling her bath water as soaps as she was called creepy for doing so.
Sydney Sweeney and America Eagle is facing a wave of backlash due to the line featured in the campaign sounding like it promotes discourse of racial superiority with the “genes” wordplay.
