Sydney Sweeney, who is known for her role in Euphoria, received heavy criticism after starring in a jeans advertisement.

Although the 27-year-old actress raised eyebrows for selling body soaps made with her bath water, the star is not stepping back from stirring more controversy.

However, TMZ reported that an independent polling indicates the advertisement was appealing for the audience.

The clip of the advertisement, accused of subtle racism, shows Sydney buttoning up her jeans as she remarks: “Genes are passed down from parents to offsprings” which control traits of a person.

The Anyone But You star continues: “My jeans are blue,” a line which instantly caught attention worldwide.

What did Doja Cat say about Sydney Sweeney?

Celebrities like Doja Cat could not keep their silence. The rapper turned to TikTok to poke fun at Sydney by imitating her dialogues in an exaggerated country accent.

After the advertisement was first released, admirers questioned the actress’ choice as one X user asked: “Why would she agree to do this AD?”

Another netizen pointed out that the “clothing is for women but is being marketed and advertised for male gaze.”

Meanwhile many fans jumped in to defend the actress as they were unable to see the issue, insisting that the “media spins it into propaganda.”
