Meghan Markle’s 44th birthday is just around the corner, and her husband, Prince Harry, is expected to go all out.
While the Duchess of Sussex is expected to mark her birthday on Monday in a private setting with close family, including Harry and their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, royal insiders believe the day will be far from ordinary.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked closely with Prince Harry during his time with King Charles between 2004 and 2011, told Heart Bingo that the Duke of Sussex has a flair for thoughtful gestures, and Meghan’s birthday won’t be an exception.
“He’s quite generous,” Harrold shared. “I think he’ll go down the route of buying her jewellery or taking her away on holiday.”
But Harry might also lean into the royal family’s lesser-known tradition: quirky and sentimental gifts.
“The Royal Family are famous for quirky fun presents,” said Harrold.
“So who knows, maybe he might get her a piece of land on the moon. Or he might get her a title as a bit of a joke, you can get these Highland titles. Something a little quirky, a little fun. The sort of things money can’t buy.”
“They’ll try to make people aware it’s her birthday, which is normal,” Harrold said of the couple’s likely low-key publicity. “Everyone deserves birthday wishes.”
