Donald Trump takes fresh swipe at Meghan Markle, Prince Harry in UK press conference

US President Donald Trump has never exactly been subtle, and his latest dig at Meghan Markle is raising eyebrows across the pond.

During a press conference in the UK, the US President praised King Charles and other senior royals, but couldn’t resist what appeared to be a thinly veiled jab at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Being with Charles, Camilla and everybody, I’ve got to know because of four years [as President] and now six months,” Trump said, noting his ongoing admiration for the royal family.

“They are great people. They are really great people.”

“In that sense I think the UK is very lucky. You could have people that weren’t great people,” he added. “I don’t know if I can say that, but you could have people that weren’t.”

Royal watchers wasted no time decoding the not-so-subtle remark as yet another jab at Harry and Meghan, who stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and have had a turbulent relationship with both the monarchy and the media ever since.

One fan wrote on social media, “I love the shade President Trump throws at Prince Harry & Meghan Markle.”

Another chimed in, “He’s definitely calling them out.”

Trump’s icy history with Meghan is well documented. He previously called her “nasty” and “terrible,” and hasn’t held back in criticizing the couple’s choices, including Harry’s revelations in his memoir Spare.
