Meghan Markle's As Ever wine venture might not have the staying power she hoped for, with sources claiming there’s “no mass demand” for the Duchess’s Napa Valley rosé.
Just weeks after news broke that Meghan and Prince Harry’s £78 million Netflix deal won’t be renewed this September, the Duchess faces another setback.
Though her wine sold out hours after launching on July 1, sources say that’s only because it was a very small batch.
“There isn’t a demand for her wine from a mass market point of view,” an insider told the Mail. A supermarket or department store deal? “Unlikely.”
The timing couldn’t be worse. Meghan hasn’t posted on her personal Instagram @meghan since July 4 and has been mostly silent on her As Ever brand account too.
Brand expert Nick Ede believes the quiet is strategic: “She might be building momentum for a new announcement, something to get the headlines buzzing again.”
