After learning of the unexpected death of the man leading the haunted Annabelle doll tour, fans have been pleading for its cancellation.
The Devils on the Run Tour's sponsor, the New England Society for Psychic Research, confirmed that Dan Rivera died on Sunday, July 13, at the age of 54.
When paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren investigated claims of attacks by the infamous doll in the 1970s, the Annabelle doll gained dishonour.
As part of the Devils on the Run exhibition, Annabelle is currently travelling the United States with other pieces from the Warrens Occult Museum collection, despite the fact that they placed her in a specially constructed glass case and cautioned that she should never be moved.
Dan reportedly oversaw the tour and was responsible for transporting the eerie children's toy across the nation.
His most recent tour stop, which took place over three days at the Soldiers National Orphanage over the weekend and was entirely sold out, had taken him to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The Evening Sun reports that on Sunday, firefighters and medical staff were called to a hotel in Gettysburg after receiving a report of a male patient of Dan's age undergoing cardiopulmonary recovery.
The unexpected death of Dan caused widespread panic on the internet, with many people urging the tour's organisers to "put her back in her box."
Annabelle feels even more disturbing now after the sudden death of Dan Rivera, the guide of her haunted tour, in Gettysburg. The eerie timing has fueled fears that the cursed doll’s sinister reputation may have real-world consequences.
