Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez, dominated the headlines after headlining Super Bowl halftime and winning a Grammy.
Although the 32-year-old is being considered as one of the controversial figures this year, he made history with his music in native language.
According to new reports, the MONACO crooner became the artist with most songs having over 1 billion plays on streaming giant, Spotify.
The record was previously held by The Weekend, Abel Tesfaye, with 31 tracks. However, Benito has taken over with 32 tracks dethroning the Grammy winner.
This came after Bad Bunny sparked controversy as his Super Bowl halftime show was slammed with more than 2000 complaints to the Federal Communications Commission.
These complaints are majorily dragging the performance as "inappropriate", intimate due to vocal performance of Safaera with “sexual references.”
One of the complainers from Las Vegas reported: "I had to make all of my children go into the next room” during the halftime show.
On the other hand, the musician did not pay any heed to the ongoing drama around him while his fans defend him for headlining the event.
It is to be noted that the choice to have Benito as a headliner for Super Bowl halftime was debated for a long time by many.
Stars like Jennifer Lopez jumped in to back him for the show, highlighting his contributions to the musical world.
