Matt Reeves, director of The Batman has officially completed the script for the much anticipated-sequel.
On Friday, June 28, Reeves shared a collaborative post with co-writer Mattson Tomlin of the finished screen-play on Instagram with the caption: “Partners in Crime (Fighters).”
The American filmmaker deliberately blurred the script but the iconic bat symbol was there hinting that the next chapter of Batman is now one step closer to the big screen.
The major announcement comes amid growing speculation that The Batman 2 had stalled permanently.
Earlier, Warner Bros pushed its release to 2027 due to which fans began to lose hope. But DC co-head jumped to Reeves’ defense saying: “People should get off Matt’s nuts.”
Asking fans to patiently wait he added, “Let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs to write it. That’s just the way it is.”
The Batman (2022) ventures into Gotham City's underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. Robert Pattinson played the role of younger and emotionally tormented Bruce Wayne.
The film was both a critical and commercial success, praised for its grounded tone and standout performances from Paul Dano as the Riddler and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
Now the script is in hands, the most anticipated film The Batman 2 is back in motion looking forward to lighting up theatres soon.
The leading actor will possibly be Robert Pattinson, reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The sequel is a continuation of the 2022 film, "The Batman," which also starred Pattinson as the iconic superhero.
