King Charles recorded a special message as his son Prince Harry decided to take a major step in order to make amends with the royal family.

Buckingham Palace shared that the monarch marked the 70th anniversary of BBC World Service's annual Antarctic Midwinter Broadcast.

He honoured the research staff stationed at British Antarctic Survey (BAS) facilities in Rothera, Bird Island, and South Georgia.

In a personal message, King Charles said, "I particularly wanted to send my warmest good wishes to all of those serving at British Antarctic research stations this Midwinter's Day, and above all, to express the greatest admiration for the critically important work you do."

As per the royal family, "The programme is broadcast annually on 21st June - the longest night of the year in Antarctica."

"First broadcast in June 1955 as a short-wave message for an intended audience of around 30, it is now heard and enjoyed by millions globally."

"The traditional celebration includes recorded personal messages from friends and family at home."

Notably, King Charles issued a new statement amid reports that Prince Harry is reportedly planning to extend an invitation to Invictus Games to his father and brother Prince William in a bid to make amends.

The Mail quoted a source, "Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part."
