Hollywood legend Al Pacino met with newly elected Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on Monday.

The veteran actor was accompanied by Italian producer Andrea Iervolino, who recently produced the biopic Maserati: The Brothers.

The movie stars Pacino alongside Anthony Hopkins and Andy Garcia and is set to be released later this year.

In a statement, Iervolino highlighted the mutual emphasis on family unity, love, compassion and contributing to the common good—principles central both to the Catholic Church and the film’s narrative.

The producer also noted that these ideals align with messages consistently promoted by Pope Leo XIV.

Elected last month, Pope Leo XIV is the first pontiff from the United States and a former leader of the Augustinian Order.

Earlier this month, Magenta Light Studios secured U.S. distribution rights for Maserati: The Brothers.

The film is scheduled to release on over 2,000 screens across the U.S. and Canada, with additional screenings planned in Italy and Spain.

The movie tells the story of the Maserati family, pioneers in luxury sports cars, with Pacino portraying Vincenzo Vaccaro, an early investor in the Maserati legacy.
