Dakota Johnson has introduced a new family member to her fans just days after breaking up with Chris Martin.
The Fifty Shades of Grey star shared that she adopted a new puppy. "Her name is Tokyo and we rescued it from Santa Barbara Humane Society in California," she added.
The actress's love for dogs isn't a secret and her new puppy appears to be comforting her in the wake of the death of her previous dog named Zeppelin, who died in December 2024 at the age of 17.
During an exclusive conversation with Amy Poehler on Good Hang Podcast, Dakota shared, "I was still coping with Zeppelin's death. I though it will take some time but then I saw her (Tokyo) and she's an angel."
The Materialists star who brought her new dog to the studio revealed that pup's playfulness in front of camera was a revelation, adding, "She normally hides in the back of her crate. She's really timid. And now, in front of camera, she's like, 'Here I am.'"
The new addition to Dakota's family comes after it was revealed that the actress has called it quits with Chris Martin after staying together for nearly eight years.
Dakota hasn't yet offered any reaction to her split reports.
