Ed Sheeran wins fans’ hearts with new song

Ed Sheeran earned the approval of fans with the release of his song, Sapphire, which contained some noteworthy appearances.

The new track is a part of his latest album, Play, which contains multiple songs appreciating different cultures, and the music video for the song dropped on June 5, hones in on India.

Ed can be seen connecting with the people and places of the country, as he roams on streets and explores various beaches and tourist spots.

The Castle on the Hill singer also had a brief cameo from Bollywood’s biggest star, Shah Rukh Khan, and had a few verses sung by the versatile musician, Arijit Singh, as the two rode together on a bike in the music video.

The 34-year-old also gave a nod to one of the local languages of India, Punjabi, by adding a line from it in the chorus.

Ed’s song was met with audiences who quickly fell in love with the track, with one netizen writing, “Aww this is too cute. He seems genuinely happy. Also, getting SRK and Arijit to collab - real boss move.”

Another added, “I'm just Obsessed with this song already,” while a third noted, “Couple weeks in India and he knows punjabi already, GOOD MAN!!”
