Sydney Sweeney has spoken out about having to spend eight months as a teenager living in a Holiday Inn following her parents' bankruptcy.

After succeeding in acting with parts in Anyone But You, The White Lotus, and The Handmaid's Tale, the 27-year-old Euphoria star is now a multimillion-dollar success story.

However, prior to becoming well-known, her family was struggling after her father, a hotel employee, and mother, Lisa, a criminal defence attorney, were declared bankrupt.

When she was sixteen years old in 2013, her now-divorced parents sold their Washington home, and she and her brother spent eight months in a hotel.

"We lived in the Holiday Inn in Burbank [northwest LA] for eight and a half months, but it felt like my entire life," she told The Times about her difficult upbringing.

"We shared a hotel room with one bedroom, no balcony, and no kitchen. My mom and I slept in a bed with a pull-out sofa bed, along with my dad and brother. In an attempt to make the most of it, my brother and I would joke that we were in Zack and Cody's Suite," the actress revealed.

Sydney has found her own financial success through her work in films and television, and she now has an amazing property portfolio, which is a far cry from her early days.

Is Sydney Sweeney still engaged?

Earlier this year, Sydney Sweeney announced that she and her 41-year-old long-time partner Jonathan Davino had called off their engagement.
