Prince Harry joined his father King Charles and the senior royals as he also remembered veterans and war heroes in his new emotional message.

The Duke of Sussex's passion project, Invictus Games, marked the historic event with a meaningful statement on their official Instagram page.

Harry's spokesperson said, "On #veday80, our thoughts are with the generation who truly understood the meaning of service, and who demonstrated their unconquerable spirit."

"We stand in solidarity with those who served, and those serving, across the international armed forces community."

"In particular, those ill or injured for they showcase human resilience for us all, highlighting what it means to be Invictus."

Harry's family in the UK gathered for a music concert at Horse Guards Parade near Buckingham Palace, where the monarch delivered a powerful speech honouring those who sacrificed their lives.

Charles emphasised that people choose dialogue over conflict for a peaceful world.

An important part of his speech, was when he said, "As we reach the conclusion of the 80th anniversary commemorations, we should remind ourselves of the words of our great wartime leader, Sir Winston Churchill, who said 'Meeting jaw to jaw is better than war,'" the King said.
