Cardi B’s Met Gala appearance sparked fan speculation that the Bodak Yellow rapper was intoxicated, prompting her to speak out. However the criticism didn’t stop there for the Grammy winner.
As the rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Cephus, headed to Cipriani Met Gala afterparty with other big names like Heidi Klum and Doja Cat, she sported a drastic transformation from her look for the prestigious event.
The controversial figure donned a blonde wig and a black lace-up corset-style gown, an image of which was reposted by a netizen on Twitter (now X), with the caption, “this can’t be real omg.”
It turns out the user’s guess was correct, as the picture they had shared was edited.
The post caught the eye of the Please Me crooner, who responded to the images with a video of herself, noting, “Am I really that bad of a b***h that y’all always gotta edit my pictures to fake try to humble me wit insults on this app?"
She continued, "Anyways no filter, no makeup, just me and this wig I had on for days. THANK YOU!!”
However, Cardi’s reply was met with a flood of comments slamming her appearance even more, with one netizen writing, You look exactly like that photo they posted [three crying laughing emojis] you just proved it wasn’t edited LMFAOOOOO”
Another stated, “You’re right , those set of photos are edited but the originals aren’t that far off …”
A third chimed in, “your biggest filter is the hundreds of surgeries you’ve had”
Notably, the I Like It hitmaker has been open about her cosmetic procedures.
Cardi has admitted to having multiple procedures, namely a rhinoplasty, breast implants, liposuction as well as botched fillers.
