Kanye West, who has been making headlines with his controversial actions, got candid about being hurt by his old pal Jay-Z.
The 47-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to open up about a painful memory that still haunts the rapper.
Kanye questioned Jay-Z, who shares three children with Beyonce, for talking about “'no red hat' on Jail.” The rapper revealed that the statement injured him so deep that it “tore me to my soul.”
In 2018, the Heartless musician received heavy backlash after he wore the MAGA “red hat” in support of Donald Trump.
Although his fans and critics were not supportive of his action, the hip hop singer felt truly heartbroken after his fellow artist Jay-Z allegedly dissed about him in his song What’s Free.
The Run This Town hitmaker rapped: “No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye. They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA, I ain’t like one of those house.”
The Yeezy owner, who recently sparked reunion rumours with wife Bianca Censori, disclosed that the two artists “fought about it and he told me either leave that line on there or take my verse off.”
He admitted about the controversy: “Me wearing the red hat was the most stand out example of me going ‘against the program.’”
The record producer left an open-ended query for his followers, asking them to pour in their suggestions, “if [Jay-Z] was instructed to say that?”
Kanye was deep in love with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, the mother of his four children, which he expressed in his song Theraflu: “I admit I fell in love with Kim… ‘Round the same time she fell in love with him.’”
