Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was arrested in Septemer 2024 for charges of trafficking, violence and racketeeing lost an oppurtunity that could go in his favour.
The disgraced rapper, who is currently in custody in Brooklyn, is waiting for his trial that is set to begin in May.
As his legal team prepares to fight his case, they are hit with another setback after being slammed with additional charges.
Diddy and his team’s appeal to have his trial delayed has been rejected and will star next month.
The rapper’s team, led by Marc Agnifilo, had requested to reschedule the trial so they can confront the new charges. According to the attorneys the delay would provide them with “the necessary time to prepare his defence”.
However, the US District Judge has denied the request.
The hip-hop mogul’s trial will begin on May 5, as it was scheduled. With opening statements scheduled for May 12, the trial is expected to go on for eight weeks.
